Tessa Thompson

Tessa Lynn Thompson, an actress and singer-songwriter of Los Angeles was born in 1983. Thompson is the daughter of singer-songwriter Marc Anthony Thompson and the grandchild of musician-actor Bobby Ramos. Her childhood was spent living in Los Angeles, before she made the move to Brooklyn. She is of Mexican, British Isles and Afro-Panamanian origin. Thompson attended Santa Monica High School where she was a part of numerous theatre productions. After graduation, she enrolled at Santa Monica College, where she graduated with a master's degree in cultural Anthropology. She performed as Juliet in William Shakespeare's drama "Romeo and Juliet" in a production which was held in the Boston Court Theatre in Pasadena, California.
