| Anna Paquin is a New Zealand-Canadian film theatre and television actress who is known for her performances in films like The PianoFly Homeaway and X-Men.She entered the film industry when she was a young artist, for The Pianofor which she won the Oscar Award for Best Actress in Supporting Roleat the age of 11. The fate took over. It wasn't her intention to become an actor, however, it happened. Many of the requests she was presented with following her first film's success in order to focus on her studies. However at the age of fourteen she entered the film industry by accepting parts in Jane Eyre as well as the film Fly Away Home.In 2000, she was the powerful mutant Roguein The X-Men, the first film in the X-Men film series. The role catapulted her to worldwide notoriety. Her role was reprised as Roguein sequels such as X2and X-Men The Last Stand.She also made brief appearances on screen, most notably in Elaine Goodalein's Bury My Heart at Wounded Kneefor which she was awarded her first Emmynomination. She soon received opportunities to be part of TV programs and eventually she was a part for shows such as True Bloodand Flack. |
